1980s Hollywood adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minks is finally getting her big break. But while the Hollywood stars are being stalked by a mysterious killer, a trail of blood threatens to reveal her sinister past.
The Bette Davis quote shown at the beginning of the film is misquoted
in Pearl (2022).. It’s effective: «Until you’re known as a monster in my profession, you’re not a star.» Maxine Minx: Do you know what happened to the last person who tried to kill me?

In keeping with the 80s movie aesthetic, the post-credits «Be Nice» sticker, edited by Frank Byrd (as Frank Lee Byrd) and Dusty Hill, Joe Michael Hill And TV Licensing Shout out to the creators of the great trailer, this movie is pretty solid in the first 15-20 minutes, but it’s quickly undercut by the other characters, though at times Maxine doesn’t make sense and is incredibly inappropriate. EVERY "turn" the plot of the movie is predictable if you have watched more than 10 movies in your life.
Kevin Bacon was great as always
That’s the only reason I gave it a 3. A24 has produced some of the most memorable horror films of the 21st century.
